Naturopathic Medicine

collage
Naturopathic Medicine is a model of health care in which treatment is focused on disease
prevention and supporting the body’s natural abilities to heal. The least invasive and most holistic modalities are the first choice.

The ultimate goal and focus of treatment is to successfully identify and treat the cause of the disease rather than suppressing the body’s symptoms, which are signs of a disharmony and not the disease itself.

The naturopathic approach often requires the physician to educate the patient about their lifestyle choices as well as their physiology.

Licensed Naturopathic physicians are trained to diagnose and treat all chronic and acute health conditions.

All naturopathic providers in Maryland are not trained equally.  Some Naturopaths in Maryland have completed 4 year federally accredited medical programs, passed series of rigorous medical board examinations and and hold a medical license in licensable states.  Maryland does not license Naturopathic Physicians.  Therefore it is up to you to ask about the training and license status of any practitioner that you may seek.
